phyllisrogers-stone:

Someone posted this on youtube just a couple days ago. Just watched it twice and I am a teary mess.

Hey every other musical, sorry, but Follies has the best second act of ALL TIME. I was literally on the edge of my seat for the full forty-five minutes. Bernadette Peters was PERFECT as Sally. Absolutely wonderful, a truly Tony winning performance if there ever was one. Jan Maxwell was equally spot-on, darkly comedic with an acerbic tongue. Seriously, if you can, catch this revival before it closes (January 22-why can’t it be open forever?), because it was one of the absolute best shows I have ever seen. There’s so much to think about, and that’s the best kind of theater.

Sondheim, you be killin em.
